GRID supports 1920×1080 resolution with enought video RAM present. reasons why to install Older grid ( Grid race Driver i assume ) are probably way better single player carrer mode. The next time I started the game, I was able to select 1920×1080 resolution! I also tried nVidia Surround, but the in-game menus are zoomed in (vert- in FOV terms) which makes it very difficult to navigate them between races. ![]() ![]() It was the first game to feature Flashback a mechanic which allows players to rewind and resume. The solution recommends removing this block of code, but I chose to update it with the correct amount of video RAM as well as a resolution width that is large enough for nVidia Surround resolutions: The BAFTA Award winning Race Driver: GRID was a pioneer. For me, the file was located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Codemasters\GRID\system This bit of code at the bottom of the file indicates how much video RAM the game detected and the highest resolution width available in the game’s graphics settings: GRID creates a file called hardware_settings_restrictions.xml that specifies-among other things-what hardware capabilities are available to the game. The game isn’t able to correctly detect the amount of video RAM on some newer cards (including mine, I guess), so it falls back to assuming there is only enough to run the game in 720p or lower resolutions.įortunately I found a solution at. GRID restricts the resolutions available based on the amount of video RAM it detects. I used to get the lag/speedup bug all the time but that seems to have resolved itself. Other than this issue the game seems to run fine, surprisingly enough. I've also completely reinstalled the game itself multiple times and nothing has changed other than the amount of free time I have. I don't have a damn clue what could cause it, considering I've reinstalled my graphics drivers, checked game integrity, installed and reinstalled OpenAL, checked audio settings, checked/uninstalled/reinstalled audio drivers and checked for the oft-mentioned-in-support-threads replay file (which doesn't seem to exist in ProgramData despite the Replay folder being there.). After several days of searching for a solution, I've come across nothing.
